
PORT VILA DISCOVERY
This tour departs from your hotel in town and takes you past the new Parliament House built by the Chinese Government, the local markets and the main shopping area of town.
Your first stop is at the National Museum where you will enjoy a guided tour and see exhibits on Vanuatu's geology, history and customs, including ritual clubs for killing pigs, arrow points made from human bones, pig tusk bracelets presented to the Queen and artifacts.
You will rejoin your bus and travel to the local Distillery. The spirits and liqueurs are prepared and bottled here and are comparable to the famous brands, enjoy your free tasting! Also made are unique island drinks such as "Chilli Vodka". You will have time to purchase spirits and liqueurs - much cheaper than Duty Free!
Rejoining your bus for a short drive to the colourful Diana Tam Gallery. Diana is a renowned local artist and here you will have time to see her Home Studio and Gallery displaying paintings, glassware, t-shirts, linen, gift cards and limited edition prints.
Next stop is a visit to the Michtoutouchkine Foundation Museum where you can admire the designs of the Pacific's foremost artist who, together with his partner, Pilioko, have established a foundation for the preservation of artistic values in the South Pacific.
